Chaos on Route 12

In a recent incident on Route 12 in Volo, IL, a wrong-way crash resulted in three people being seriously injured.
The accident occurred on a Sunday night when a 24-year-old man, driving a Ford Mustang northbound in the southbound lanes, collided head-on with a Mitsubishi SUV. The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 36-year-old woman from Deerfield, sustained severe injuries including a fractured spine and brain bleeding. Additionally, the driver of the Ford and a 23-year-old man who was a front-seat passenger in the Ford, also suffered serious injuries. An open container of alcohol was found in the Ford Mustang, and impairment is suspected to be a contributing factor in the crash. The Lake County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident, and as of the last update, they were still in the process of collecting evidence, including medical records, before deciding on filing charges
