Johnstown Traffic Tragedy

Richard Irelan, a 45-year-old man from Johnstown, was sentenced to two to six years in prison for his involvement in a

fatal DUI motorcycle crash on I-87. The crash, which resulted in the death of his motorcycle passenger, occurred when Irelan, who was under the influence of alcohol and cannabis, rear-ended a pickup truck. Irelan had a blood alcohol concentration of .09% and cannabis in his system at the time of the accident. He pleaded guilty to second-degree vehicular manslaughter in November.
