Lake Elmo Mourns the Loss of a Young Life in Heart-Wrenching DUI Crash

As a result of a tragic incident in Lake Elmo, Minnesota, a 5-year-old girl named Morgan Ray Peterson died in a car accident on Highway 36. The accident occurred on Saturday evening when the car in which Morgan was driving, driven by Chris Petersen, stalled on the left lane of the highway leading east. When Chris tried to push the car to the side of the road with the emergency lights on, a Nissan Pathfinder crashed into it at high speed.

Morgan, who was sitting in the back passenger seat, suffered serious injuries, including a fractured neck and a serious traumatic brain injury, which eventually led to death. The driver of the stalled vehicle and a 10-year-old boy, who were not wearing seat belts, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The Pathfinder driver, a 47-year-old man from St. Paul, admitted to drinking alcohol and wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. His injuries were not life-threatening. A search warrant has been issued to investigate the possibility that the Pathfinder driver was under the influence of intoxicating substances at the time of the accident.

A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to support the Peterson family during this difficult time. The Minnesota State Patrol is working on a reconstruction of the incident to understand the exact circumstances of the crash
